Since 1979 when China adopted open-door- policy and reforms, China has sustained prompt economic growth, all the social undertakings have obtained comprehensive development. Social productivity and national power have achieved historic progress.  In 2004, Total value of China’s import and export has exceeded one thousand billion US dollars and China has become the world’s leading country of trading. Meanwhile, China has attracted more than one thousand billion US dollars’ foreign investment.  The fast development of China’s economy also provides many other countries with opportunities to develop.

People between China and Malta have enjoyed traditional friendship. Since 1972 when diplomatic ties were set up, business relations have been keeping development. Especiallly during the past a few years, bilateral trade showed a trend of fast development. According to the statistics from China Customs, From January to November 2004, the value of bilateral trade has reached 497million US dollars, 54.6% up correspondingly. We still have great potentials to further promote bilateral trade and economic cooperations.

  Through our website, we will introduce China’s economic situation, cooperation opportunities, both concerned issues related to bilateral  trade and economy  to  Maltese friends from business circles, offer more useful information and services to further promote the communication and exchanges between our two countries, widen and deepen bilateral economic cooperations.
